Language Samples

LAIB 4000 INTERNSHIP COURSE - “Final Thesis” in Italian

 

This paper was centered around using my Italian language skills to develop a reflection on my summer internship and connection to my study abroad experience. I go into detail about the differences between Italian and American cultures in lifestyle and business, as well as explain the aspects of my internship and how it connected to my LAIB coursework.

ITAL 3170 ITALIAN FOR INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS - “Final Paper in Italian on Unemployment in Italy”
 

In this paper I researched the economical issues in Italy surrounding unemployment and the effects that it has on the Italian citizens. Using both my resources as well as first hand accounts during my time studying abroad, I developed a thorough understanding and reflection on the economic and political turmoil surrounding the job market and costs of living in Italy.

Business Samples

ECON 3100 INTERNATIONAL ECONOMY - “Signature Project”
 

The signature project for this class was based around choosing an economic topic of conversation and doing research to conduct a thorough analysis of it. In the project I detail the economic impact of railroads and how it has affected the entire world since their creation. I connected the elements we learned in our class and analyzed how railroads have changed the economic environment in many ways both good and bad. 

PCID 3040 BUSINESS WRITING - “Final Project” 
 

In this paper I pieced together all of my work throughout the semester for this class. The collection includes my choice of a local business and my opinions and strategies to help improve their current successes. The project consisted of researching and learning about business strategies and how to implement them into real life situations. 

Culture and Literacy Samples

ITAL 3980/4980 DIRECTED READING/SELECTED TOPICS IN ITALIAN CULTURE - “Final Paper” in English

In this paper, I wrote a detailed analysis of multiple classic Italian songs. Connecting these songs to the culture of Italy as well as the people who live there, and also divulging in the impact these pieces of art had on the times and the atmospheres surrounding it. 

ITAL CRIME FICTION - “Response Paper” in English
 

In this paper, I conducted research and reflection on a popular piece of Italian literature by Andrea Camilieri titled the Teradotta Dog. Throughout the paper I write about the plot and the relation to real life difficulties while detailing about the author’s writing style and the effects that his works had on not only the literary but political environment as well.
